In memory of Paul Bibbings

On April 2nd 2021 my Father Paul Bibbings, My Dad, Son, Uncle, friend and gentle giant – passed away of unknown causes.

This was a shock as; despite his many medical conditions which were under control - and even with an undiagnosed condition forcing him to retain water – he soldiered on and kept people smiling and shining hope into their lives; even when he had none. 

Despite the severe pain he suffered daily which left him immobile, unable to drive his beloved security van and have a cheeky ice cream by the sea in Hythe in the last year – he kept moving forward, positive and hopeful for a healthier tomorrow – a tomorrow that will now no longer sadly ever come for him.

Those that knew my Dad; knew he loved life to the extreme. He was the brightest light at any party, laughed the loudest and the longest. He loved all his Family, Friends, Food and especially being a cheeky chap around the women who doted on him for his antics and his cheeky smile.

Taking care of all those around him, losing his job as he could no longer walk or drive and being reduced to meagre benefits left him financially ruined and without a will (that we can find) or any insurance policies (former employer not forthcoming) – I am struggling to find the money to give my Dad the funeral he deserves.

Even his car – the main link between me (his only child) and my Father was stolen and smashed up the day after he passed. 

For all the joy and love he gave to people, all the time he took making sure people were genuinely okay and for all the taxes he paid - the government have even refused assistance with costs and so I am alone.

If there is anything anyone could do to help to give him the send-off he deserves - it will be much appreciated as I don’t really know what else to do? 

He will be deeply missed and now he is reunited with his beloved Dad; John Bibbings and the love of his life my mum Debbie...
