In Memory of Quint Noyes : New MBC Sailing Boat

For those of you who knew Quint well, I know that you do not need any explanation from me as to how truly amazing of a person he was or why it would be worthwhile to donate toward this cause in his memory.
For those of you who did not know Quint well, I feel sad for you. I feel sad for you because, although you did not know it, your life was missing something very special. Quint was a one of a kind character, some might say he was too good to be true. With an innate ability to make people laugh, Quint could put a smile on anyone's face even on their worst day...without even trying. He was the life of any party he walked into, regardless of how many people he knew. The most likable person I have ever met, Quint was truly loved by every person who was lucky enough to spend time with him. In just 20 short years, Quint touched more lives than most people could even dream of in a full lifetime.
I've known Quint since our early MBC sailing days, racing around in Optis on the water and creating headaches for our instructors off it. There was never a dull moment with Quint, not one. I remember him most for constantly running around the beach club yelling "CHOY!!!" at anyone who crossed his path. That quickly became my nickname for him, and was all the way up until his final days. Quint was awarded the MBC Sailing "Stinky" award not once, but twice. The "Stinky" award is given each year to the most helpful person on the dock, further exemplifying what a selfless person he really was, always putting his friends above himself.
That is why I want to ask you all for your help. I want to ask for your help in raising money to buy a new boat used for the youth sailing program in memory of Quint. Something that will be used everyday during the summer months, a new MBC sailing boat will serve as the perfect honorary memorial to ensure that the legendary figure that Quint genuinely was can live on for many more years to come. It is my hope for the boat to be named "CHOY" (or have some sort of similar tribute to Quint associated) and its home will be the Madison Beach Club, where all donors will be welcome to come see it upon its unveiling which will hopefully be sometime over the course of the next summer or two.
