In memory of Rahina Halidou Djadje

Hi, my name is Alanna and I am raising money in the memory of Rahina Halidou Djadje who passed suddenly on Tuesday night (March 5th) at 40 years old. She is survived by her husband and their 8 beautiful children.

On Tuesday night, I had a brush with fate while I was driving with my friend through Bedstuy, Brooklyn. Suddenly a teenager ran into the street to flag the our car down. It was her 18 year old son, Ray. He was panicking and asking for help, he explained his mom had stopped breathing but nobody around knew CPR. He ran into the apartment and I jumped out of the car and followed him upstairs, where I performed CPR on Rahina until the EMT’s arrived on the scene. She was then transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, Rahina passed last night in the hospital. My heart aches for her family, I truly wish there was more that could have been done.

Rahina, her husband, and their 8 children share a small 4 bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. As someone who lost my own dad almost 6 years ago now, I feel a connection with her family and a desire to help them through this hard time. I understand the deep emotional pain as well as the financial burden that comes with a loss like this, as my own family has also experienced it firsthand. I’m asking for help to raise money for her family to cover all hospital, ambulance, and funeral expenses so that her kids and husband can have some peace of mind while they focus on the difficult task of grieving this sudden loss.

Her son Ray told me that Rahina was extremely kind, loving, and caring to all people. Everyone that knew her loved her. She will be missed by many.
