In Memory of Rev. Martin Seymour

Donation protected
Rev Martin Seymour, Pastor of Littlehampton Baptist Church passed away at home after a short illness on the 15th of August.

The family ask that instead of flowers on the day please donate here and the funds raised will be shared between two charities. Turning Tides is a a local charity who works with and for the homeless in Littlehampton and Littlehampton Baptist Church for the continuation of the children's work which was so close to Rev Seymour’s heart.

Martin and his wife Jose had only been in post at Littlehampton for 5 and a half years, he had made many friends and contacts in the local community from shopkeepers to councillors.
Martin preached every Sunday at Littlehampton Baptist Church, but his energy and passion did not stop at the church door.

Martin was a much-loved member of the community and could be seen often walking around the town in his capacity as a Town Centre Chaplain, a resource which he instigated, and which has been very popular and well accepted on the high street. His visits to the Veterans breakfast Club at Café 72 were always a pleasure and he took seriously his role as their Padre. He was always ready to listen and to chat with people and to help where he could.
He was a keen author of articles in the Littlehampton Gazette and worked tirelessly to reach out to the community to show the love of God. Working with the police, councillors and mayors to help make a difference in the community and the lives of people he had come to love.

Being a part of “Churches together” in Littlehampton, organising Easter and Christmas events in the high street gave him much pleasure.

Well done my good and faithful servant…. Mathew 25:23

Martin is survived by his wife, the proud father of Treena and Lee and Silly Granddad to Tabitha, Hudson, Elliott and Livia.
A Funeral service will be held at LBC on 2nd September at 12:30 followed by a Committal at Worthing Crematorium at 3pm.
