In Memory of Richard J. Martinez, Loving Dad

Dear family and friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I am sharing this announcement and fundraiser. My father, Richard J. Martinez, passed away suddenly on December 2nd, 2024, and has left a hole in my and my brother's heart that no words can express, and that no one else can ever fill.

Anyone who knew my father knew he was devoted, caring, good-natured, quick with a joke, and always ready to lend a hand to help you out if he could. He was the good friend everyone wished they had. Richie and I were extremely lucky to call him "dad," as were my kids to call him "grandpa."

While all the precious moments we had with him are priceless, we are unfortunately facing some real-world costs and are humbly asking for your support as we navigate this process through our grief.

We are asking our community of friends, loved ones, and even kind-hearted strangers to help raise $15,000 to cover:

Funeral and memorial expenses

Legal counsel and fees to get his affairs in order

Household utilities during the probate process

For family and close friends, services will be held Friday, December 6th, from 5-9pm at Fred Dickey Funeral Home on 1320 Trey Drive, Laredo TX.

There will never be a replacement for our beloved dad, and our only consolation is that he is finally reunited with my mom - the love of his life. We will carry you both in our hearts forever.
