In memory of Rick Butcher - medical bill support

Sharing this GoFundMe for all those who have reached out after our father, Rick Butcher, passed away. Many have asked how they can support our family (including financially), so we have created this for those who wish to give during this challenging time. Details below:

This summer, Rick unexpectedly passed after a short and intense battle with colon cancer. He was a loving father, husband, son, brother and friend who gave his time freely to help others. He was serious, but goofy. Those who knew him, knew he cared so deeply for the poorest, most marginalized and hurting communities around the world.

If you have lost someone, you know that the logistics of death can be painful too.

Our family should be able to focus on grieving, healing and celebrating his memory during this devastating time. However, due to a very broken healthcare system (and in spite of 6 months of diligent paperwork, phone calls and meetings with Medicaid), we must now spend time figuring out how to pay an overwhelming amount of medical bills. This makes “moving on” with life and continuing the healing process even more difficult, if not impossible for the moment.

We are so thankful for our loving community who continue to ‘raise our arms’ when we are weary - thank you for your support, no matter what form it has taken. We love you!
