In Memory of Ricky Smith Jr.

Hello Friends and Family,
My name is Matt Scullin and I am the owner of Window Genie of Cleveland West. We are raising money in memory of Ricky Smith Jr. and to support his young family. We had the absolute pleasure of working with Ricky since September of 2021. Ricky was one of our lead technicians and was a beloved member of our staff. Ricky had been out of work injured since July 2nd, 2022. While on his way back to the shop in July, with his brother Mike in the passenger seat, Ricky had a seizure while driving one of the work vehicles. This was the first seizure of his life and the doctors were not able to pinpoint the cause of it. During the seizure, Ricky dislocated both of his shoulders and broke one of them, which kept him from working. He was unable to drive a vehicle while he went through physical rehab, and the doctors tried to get to the bottom of his case. While on the mend Ricky continued to stay positive and kept us in the loop of his progress. Unfortunately, he was denied unemployment and workers comp by the state. He still stayed upbeat and worked hard to return to work. He had a follow-up appointment with this doctor for Friday, January 6th to get clearance for driving and to come back to work. We couldn't wait to see him again and had seen him a few weeks ago at our company Holiday Celebration.
Sadly, Ricky suffered from a second seizure on Wednesday, January 4th and did not survive. He was 34 years old.
We were all shocked and saddened to hear of Ricky's passing. His "can do" attitude, his contagious smile, and his love for his family are all qualities that I admired about Ricky. Ricky was a great person, father, and partner. Ricky is leaving behind his son Aiden and his girlfriend Brittany. We at Window Genie of Cleveland are starting this fundraiser in honor of Ricky. We know that no amount of money can make up for his loss but we do know that we would like to help his family in any way that we can. We want to be sure that his son is looked after. We want to be sure that we do what we can to give Brittany and Aiden some type of relief during these trying times. On behalf of Window Genie of Cleveland West, we ask for your help. We would appreciate anything that you can give at this time. Thank you so much for considering a donation to help Aiden and Brittany in this time of need.
With love and respect,
Matt Scullin
