In Memory of Roberto A. Esquejo

While many children refer to their parents as mom and dad, Michael and I always referred to ours as nanay and tatay. On December 6th, 2024, our Tatay, Roberto A. Esquejo passed away in his battle with lung cancer. He was a wonderful father, coach, and friend to all. Tatay had an inspiring work ethic and a heart overflowing with love and compassion. His strength and resilience are indescribable to say the least, but are also completely undeniable. Though now departed, Tatay can finally rest.

For our family, however, this time is bittersweet. Knowing that Tatay is in a better place fills our hearts with joy and peace, but nonetheless, it is still difficult knowing that he is no longer here in our world. Our amazing mother, Romina Esquejo, has spent countless days and nights caring for Tatay. She has been his calm in the storm for so long, and we are forever grateful for her. She not only lost the father of Michael and I, but she also lost the love of her life. She stayed by his side both through sickness and in health, and because of that, we wanted to start this GoFundMe for her.

As we grieve the loss of our Tatay, Roberto Esquejo, we are reaching out for support in this difficult time. We are asking for help to ease the financial burden of this period of loss, especially for our mother Romina. The money raised from this GoFundMe will go toward medical expenses and Tatay’s celebration of life. Any donation, no matter how small, will provide much needed relief and support for our family. We deeply appreciate your generosity and outpouring of love during this time.
