In Memory of Rod Redfern

Donation protected
Our colleague and friend, Rod Redfern, was the teammate who showed up on Mondays with the genuine question, “Hey, how was your weekend?” The conversation often became a group share, where we learned more and more about each other, while sharing big laughs and satirical stories.

Rod showed up fully and authentically no matter where he was or what he was doing, whether that be indulging us with tales from being a Marine in Iraq, sharing a meal with the office team (tacos were his favorite), or adding his colorful perspective to the company-sponsored book clubs. Despite being extroverted and engaging, he considered himself an introvert who enjoyed hiking and taking in sunsets; appreciating the PNW beauty he knew well from growing up in Friday Harbor, on San Juan Island.

He created some incredible milestones while he was with us. We celebrated his marriage to his soulmate, Taryn, celebrated his love of being a dad to four girls, and celebrated him getting his Master’s degree. Every day, he found a way to put a smile on our faces and made a lasting imprint that we will deeply miss. He has been an integral part of the Bellingham family for over 23 years, having been hired in October of 2000.

Tragically, Rod lost his life in a bicycling accident on August 17, 2024, and it goes without saying, our small Bellingham family are experiencing heavy hearts with this sudden loss. A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Squalicum Boat House in Bellingham, WA.

If you were someone who had the opportunity to meet this force of nature we know as Rod, we encourage you to share memories or stories for Rod's family, to perhaps offer some insight into his professional life. If you feel inspired to donate to this GoFundMe, all contributions will go to Rod's family during this challenging and difficult time.

Thank you,
