On the morning of October 5th, 2024, Rudy Zevallos Jr., tragically and very unexpectedly passed away after crossing the finish line of a half marathon.
The exact cause of his death is unclear at this time, but we do know his body temperature reached a fatal level and his heart stopped.
Junior turned 18 in August, he was a senior at Lebanon High School and planned to graduate early this December. He was following his father’s footsteps and joining the Marine Corps after graduation.
While it’s impossible to summarize all Junior was and what he meant to so many people, we will provide key points for those who didn’t get the honor to know him. Junior was a remarkable friend, student, brother, and son. He was driven by a competitive spirit and a relentless determination to not just complete, but master any and all challenges.
Immersing himself in the study of the Bible, mastering the knowlege of investing, and devouring self-improvement books. He was always striving to become the absolute best version of himself.
If not at school, hiking with his girlfriend, Olivia, or serving up coffee in the 7Brew drive thru, Junior invested his free time in his friends, family, and his hobbies. He enjoyed working on his car, playing poker with his friends, and having game night with his family. Although, it’s safe to say his biggest passion was fitness. From jujitsu and soccer as a child, to football, wrestling, and track throughout middle and high school. Rest was a foreign concept to him.
Junior was loved by so many and his loss is a devastation for everyone. His mother Stephanie, Father Rudy, older sisters Iyleena and Lorraina, and future brother in law Jaron, ask for prayers and we ask you cherish the memories you have with him (whether he was shirtless or not).
I would like to make a final note that I know Junior would want everyone to know. His goal was to complete the marathon in under two hours. He completed at an hour and fifty-eight minutes.
