In Memory of Sal Hernandez

Sal Hernandez- father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend, and ultimately teacher. A man who spent his lifetime doing what he loved most, making an impact on people’s lives by spreading laughter and love.
The rock of our family and the one we could count on most. Selfless to the core, he put others before himself. No matter what he was going through he always had a smile on his face. He was always there with advice, a shoulder to cry on, open ears and open arms. He was the epitome of everything a man should be.
Mentor by day and dad by night. He devoted his heart, mind, body, and soul to the Los Angeles area. He worked endless nights to build a welcoming community at the Montebello Beauty College and East Los Angeles Occupational Center. Thank you to all of the students, teachers, clients, and friends who contributed to the legacy.
What a year 2020 has been. A year we did not expect to be the “year of lasts”. His last Fathers Day, Birthday, Christmas, endless hugs, and family photos. Our father’s passing came unexpectedly & sudden due to heart failure. One minute we’re eating lunch downstairs together & the next we’re calling 911. We are in disbelief. A piece of our hearts went with him & a piece of his remains within us. Our grandma, who rests peacefully in heaven, could not wait any longer to have her son by her side.
None of us including our father anticipated such a loss to occur, it has left our family with great grief and no plan set in place.
We are asking for your help in covering funeral and burial costs. Any donation amount helps alleviate some of the financial stress from us (his 5 children). We appreciate all of the endless support and condolences we have been receiving. We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
