In memory of Stan, the Fort Mill crossing guard
Donation protected
I’m Kendra Lewis and I'm helping organize this for my family as my uncle Stan, who was a crossing guard, passed away in Fort Mill yesterday (3/21).
Stan was working his crossing guard duties during school dismissal and was tragically hit by a car and succumbed to his injuries.

Stan had a heart of gold and would never hesitate to help anyone he could. He and my aunt were about to depart on another mission trip at the end of the month. He is also survived by four children, two stepchildren, and five grandchildren who live out of state, with two currently enlisted in the military.
I've spoken with the immediate family, as many were asking how to help and support them during this extremely difficult time. Most importantly, they have requested prayers and respect for their privacy. The family has also mentioned the need for support in covering the immediate travel/hotel expenses to bring all of his children and their families here for the services.
And please, whether you're able to donate or not, PLEASE slow down in all school zones and respect the speed limit. The brave adults who put their lives in danger protecting those children every day have families who love them.
