It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Sunning Thao (Xiong). She was a daughter, sister, wife and most importantly a loving mother.
After 26 days in the hospital battling COVID-19, she gained her angel wings on Friday, October 30th 2020.
She was kind, understanding and compassionate. Her aura drew in many people to confide in her and form genuine friendships. Her giggles were contagious and she filled every room she walked in with sunshine. Those who knew her described her as:

Sunning just turned 39 years old last month and had many goals ahead of her. She graduated from NWTC this past spring in Human Services and started at UW-Green Bay this fall to pursue her Bachelor’s in Social Work.
She was also very involved in the community. She volunteered at the Green Bay Hmong Center as the event coordinator and youth advocator. Additionally, she taught traditional Hmong dance to children.
Sunning is survived by her husband Cha Peng Thao and 4 children: (Joshua, 20; Caleb, 15; Gina, 14; Aiden, 10), parents (Chongwa and Tong Xiong); 9 sisters and 2 brothers; parent-in-laws (Yong Hou and See Yang Thao); 4 brother-in-laws, 3 sister- in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.
