THIS IS BACK ON....... Cheers COVID 25th June 2023

As you all know, it’s coming up 4 years since my mum lost her battle with cancer. As you can imagine, it was one of the hardest times of my life and I can honestly say that without the support of my family, close friends and the staff at Wakefield Hospice me and my little family might not have gotten through it the way we did.

So, Me and Julian have decided to try and give a little back to the place that gave our loved ones so much care and love in their final days. So, On Sunday 25th June, we will be jumping out of a plane from 15000 feet somewhere above Scunthorpe to try and raise a few quid for this fantastic place. It costs over £11,500 per day to offer these very special services to patients and 70% of that is self-funded. So, every penny really does help to keep the doors of this very special place open.

Wakefield Hospice has been part of some of the saddest times for some very very special people and I'm sure anyone reading will have had some dealings with them. They provide high-quality end-of-life care, giving equal consideration to the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients, their families and carers. They offer care that is free of charge to patients who have been assessed as in need of specialist palliative care and acknowledge the uniqueness of every patient's fundamental approach to life and death.

I know things are tight for everyone at the moment. But, please give what you can.

Hopefully, they’ll be dancing like this somewhere now. I can just imagine what they’d say if they knew I was going to Jump out of a perfectly good plane.

More information about WAKEFIELD HOSPICE: Wakefield Hospice is a purpose-built specialist palliative care unit that opened in April 1990 providing 8 single ensuite bedrooms and 2 four bed ward areas, a Day Therapy Unit, bereavement support and education.
