In Memory of Susan Marino: Gift for Her Grandchildren

Donation protected
Susan Marie (Rothermel) Marino walked into the arms of her Savior on October 26, 2024, at age 78, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Known for her humor, kindness, and generosity, Susan was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Born June 21, 1946, in Americus, Georgia, to Dr. William and Esther Rothermel, Susan’s early life was filled with family and a passion for learning. A graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College and Northeastern University, Susan began her career teaching in Chicago before moving to Richland Center, WI, in 1974, where she formed lifelong friendships and served in various community roles, including on the City Council, County Board, Police & Fire Commission and Chamber of Commerce.

Susan is survived by her sons John (Billie) and Kenton (Kendra), grandchildren Angelo, Isaac, Josh, Natalie, and Marcel Marino, brother and sister-in-law Drs. William and Kim Rothermel, nephews Pete (Sarah), Aaron, Luke (Heather), and Adam (Kyleen) Rothermel, 12 great nieces and nephews, and many close friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 21, 2024, at Park Street Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, this memorial fund has been established for her grandchildren. Her wish is to provide funds for the grandchildren to use for college and/or any additional passions after graduating high school.
