Taran "Standing Sunrise" Kootenhayoo
It is with great sadness and pain in our hearts that we share the news of the sudden loss of Taran "Standing Sunrise" Kootenhayoo on December 31st, 2020. Loving son of Sheryl Kootenhayoo.
Taran is from Cold Lake, Alberta and Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation. He resided in Vancouver, BC. He was a very active member of the community and as many of you all know, brought laughter and light to everyone's lives. Loved by all who knew him, hearts all across Turtle Island are heavy and share in grieving our beautiful brother and friend. There are no words that can equal the amount of loss that will be felt by his absence as we all miss him. We ask that you light a candle or smudge and pray for him on his journey to join the ancestors.
If you would like to send an offering of support, it is graciously accepted with love.
The funds raised will go to supporting the final arrangements to bring him home to Alberta and lay our beloved Taran to rest. As well as any expenses that may help family members that need to travel, accommodation, and the cost of living as they grieve.
We will update any more information as necessary.
On behalf of Cheyanna and the family, thank you for your love and support during this extremely difficult time.
*This fundraiser is being overseen by Candace, Joleen & Linsay, who will direct the funds to Taran's sister, Cheyanna Kootenhayoo.
