In memory of the life and love of Evan Belshe

On the morning of April 14th, 2021, Evan Randall Belshe set out to  run a few errands. He was only supposed to be gone for an hour or so. But he lost control of his car and, in less than a second, he was violently seized from this earth. from his beloved Mom, Dad, younger brothers and friends.

A second was all it took. It was not long enough to say goodbye and there is no crowdsourcing platform that will give us that second back.

Evan was a boy you could not help but instantly adore. An infectious smile, an artist who traded pain with a joke; quick-witted, sharp as a blade, gentle as velvet.

No dream was beyond his reach. No one person wasn’t worth his time.

Our family has known pain before. In 1988, six years before Evan was born, he lost his Uncle Randy to a motorcycle accident. Evan was 14 when his Aunt Heidi died from a sudden heart attack. Ten years later, his beloved cousin A.J. (Heidi's son) was killed by a drunk driver.

In 2013, Evan's grandparents Rudy and Rennie were kidnapped from their home by a court-appointed guardian April Parks and imprisoned against their will, a story that made national headlines .

In the years that followed, Evan's bond with his brothers became even more unwavering as they banded together with his parents in campaigning for Rudy and Rennie's release and Parks' eventual arrest and imprisonment.

When both his grandparent's died, Rennie in 2019 and Rudy in 2021, Evan was devastated but took some solace in knowing they were free.

Our family has known pain. But nothing like this.

Evan had many goals by the time he turned 26.

He was going to be a stand up comic and Hollywood actor, to change the world one laugh at a time and through a fierce desire to lift up and ensure that those who had no voice or who were bullied whether by another person or a judicial system had, in him, a relentless defender.

Before the pandemic, with the support and encouragement of his friends, Evan was already preparing his first material for his first stand up gig. It is one we will never get to see.

Like all of you, our family has fallen on difficult times, made worse by the legal battle to free Rudy and Rennie that completely drained our finances.

We simply want to see Evan to his rest in dignity and with the celebration of his life that he would hope to see from us,

Everyone is in shock. He has left a void so vast that people can scarcely believe it exists.

But, as much as we cry, he would ask for no tears, a lot of hugs and, as he reminded everyone in pain, "don't worry about it. We'll get through this."
