In Memory of Tim Surrett Sr.

My father, Tim Surrett Sr., passed away suddenly Thursday afternoon. 

My heart is broken as I write this and I already miss him with all my heart.

He was often a man of few words, until you got him around his friends, or if you asked about me, his dog, or the Gamecocks. He would always be wearing a Gamecocks shirt everyday, not just because he was a fan but because he was beaming with pride for his son who attended and graduated from the university. 

He was a loyal and dedicated member of the Socastee community. He thrived on being able to give back to his community and was a member of the Myrtle Beach Elks Lodge and a 2x Exalted Ruler of the lodge. 

But he also always found time to be up at the crack of dawn to go fishing and be around the ocean.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Clara Hopper Surrett, his three brothers, his Son(Me), and his daughter-in-law, Hannah Mae Surrett. 

He was excited to be a grandfather and couldn’t stop talking about taking my son fishing and watching the Gamecocks just like he did with me growing up.
