In memory of Toby Hayward-Seers

Donation protected
This fund-raising page has been created in memory of Toby Hayward-Seers, who died on his 27 th birthday, following a cardiac arrest while running the Barcelona marathon.

He was a beloved partner, son and brother and a friend to so many.

Toby lived every moment of his life to the full, filling his days with his many passions. He was guided by kindness, curiosity, an innate sense of fun, and a firm, fierce belief in equality.

We would like to honour his life by raising money for charities and causes that reflect these values and interests.

On behalf of Toby, thank you.

We plan to split the money between the following charities.

The Running Charity
Toby was in his element when he ran. He also understood how vital running can be in supporting our collective mental health. The Running Charity harnesses the power of running to support young people who are experiencing homelessness or managing complex needs. The charity provides free group running sessions, development support and wellbeing activities to boost mental health and long-term resilience.

Tomorrow's Warriors
Tomorrow's Warriors is a jazz music education and artist development organisation that supports the early careers of young musicians, particularly female and black musicians and those with challenging economic circumstances. Some of Toby's favourite artists such as Nubya Garcia, Soweto Kinch and Zara McFarlane are alumni.

Made in Hackney
For the past three years Toby called Hackney his home and he loved the vibrancy and diversity of the borough, which he particularly experienced through the local food offerings. Made In Hackney is a community food kitchen which aims to help everyone access healthy, affordable food that's good for people and planet. They provide an emergency meal service for those in need, as well as community and family cooking classes.

TUC Aid
Toby worked as a Trade Union Organising Official, a job he'd recently transitioned to after becoming inspired by the trade union movement. A lover of travel, Toby was acutely aware of the politics and human rights situations in other countries, and was the International Relations Officer for the UEL branch of the trade union Unison. TUC Aid is a trade union charity providing financial support and solidarity for working people around the world.
