July 16, 1962 – October 30, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anton Karl Radi III, known affectionately to many as "NAPA Tony or Tone the Bone." On October 30, 2024, Tony lost his battle with mental health. Born on July 16, 1962, Tony was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend. He was a cornerstone to the Battle Creek Community whose presence and compassion for others knew no bounds.
Born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan, Tony dedicated over 30 years of his life to his career as a salesman at NAPA, where he was not only recognized for his expertise but also cherished for his kindness and generosity by his clients and customers. His presence was a fixture in the Battle Creek community, where his warm spirit and genuine care for others left a lasting impression.
Beyond his professional life, Tony was a man of deep compassion and unwavering loyalty. He was a devoted husband to Denise Radi (dogs Zippy (recently deceased), Bailey, and Molly), and a loving father to his only child, Joshua Radi, and his wife, Kristina. His pride and joy was his only grandchild, Tanner Radi, with whom he shared key cherished moments. Tony is also survived by his mother, Gayle Radi, who held a special place in his heart as her only child.
Tony had a unique ability to connect with people of all ages, and his friendships were treasured deeply. He could make anyone laugh with his quick whit and lighthearted humor. He often shared his passions with those he loved, creating lasting memories, often with much self sacrifice. Tony grew up with humble means and though he was never able to race motocross during his youth, he was able to achieve his dream of motocross by taking his son racing every weekend for 12 years, maximizing what it meant to be a devoted father while sacrificing many of his own personal hobbies. Tony was an adventure enthusiast. He loved hunting, fishing, driving or riding anything with a motor, and more recently spent his time riding his side by side, taking his dogs on walks in the woods, attending car shows, and spending moments of peace and reflection with family in his sacred spot in northern Michigan and closer to home at his late father’s 40 acre wooded parcel.
He taught those around him the value of treating everyone with respect and kindness, often reminding us that "we all put our pants on the same way." He was known to give the shirt off his back for anyone and would frequently give without ever asking for anything in return.
As we remember Tony, we find comfort in the thought that he is now at peace. His legacy of love, generosity, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him.
