With a heavy heart, I am starting this fundraiser to help the Kats family in their heartbreaking time of need. On June 17th, 2024 their family received terrible news about the loss of ALAN Vadim Kats, a beloved father, husband, son, and a treasured friend.
Our father and family became victims of an ongoing fraud project. He sacrificed his life for us and all other families who suffered from similar frauds that have been going on for over a decade. He wanted to end the injustice so no more families EVER have to experience this pain, confusion and loss.
A little about Vadim (Alan)
He believed in lifting others up, whether it was through his energy, love for life or his music. His work was a reflection of his passion for making a positive difference in the world, he believed in fairness and freedom who was a man of good faith who believed in peace and love for humanity. If you knew him, you knew his presence was undeniably bright. Beyond his talents, he cherished his family above all else. His wife, children, and close friends will always remember him for all the meaningful gestures of love and support that defined him. He genuinely had a way of making everyone feel valued and heard, he will forever be missed.
What happened?
Vadim (Alan) and his family were victims of a meticulously planned mortgage scam that stole their life savings, leaving them not only financially devastated, but forever emotionally scarred, having to live with his absence.
Imagine this - you worked hard your whole life, lived within your means and missed many important moments with your family to selflessly support them, only to end up in the wrong hands and have everything you had taken away from you. You are left in darkness, you lose your home, and have no idea if you will ever be able to recover the $1.3 million of
equity that you once had.
So what do you do? You go to the police and report what happened to you, but, almost half a year later, no one from the police contacts you to follow up. You only receive an email confirming that your information has been received.
You report the lawyers who were involved to the Law Society, but for months, no one even contacts you about investigating them. You commence an expensive court process and successfully obtain orders freezing the assets of the individuals, but are met with a slow legal system and endless opposition by the other side, quickly draining whatever financial means you have left.
Despite your successes in court, you feel helpless and see no end in sight. Vadim (Alan) was a man of justice for all, he could not lead his life knowing that anyone else could be hurt like him.
The system has failed him, but we made a promise that we will not.
For those who do not know the family, they are wonderful people who I have had the pleasure of getting to know for the last 10 years. I cannot even fathom the pain they are all going through right now. I wanted to set up this GoFundMe page because this loss has left them in complete disassociation and the funeral cost and lawsuit fees that
should be the last thing on their minds.
