In memory of Van Buren Band Director, Mike Jones

Mike Jones spent 27 of his 38-year career in Music Education at Van Buren High School. While there, he built the foundation for an award-winning program and influenced countless young people. For many of us, he has had a lifelong impact. Mike never hesitated to go above and beyond for his band program and students, regardless of the countless hours it demanded of him.

Sadly, after a four-year battle with cancer, Mike passed on November 5, 2022. His wife Debera has endured becoming a "band mom" and lovingly welcomed many of us into her life and home. To help eliminate some of the financial burdens that come with such a loss, I am asking for donations to make sure expenses do not have to be a concern for Debera and the family during this difficult time.

Family, friends, and especially "band family," let us come together "one more time" for Mr. Mike Jones.
