In Memory of Wendy Mejia Perez
On January 27th, 2020 we lost my sister Wendy Mejia Perez. Wendy was admitted to the hospital on January 23rd where we were told she had bacterial meningitis along with influenza B. The infections reached her brain so quickly. Four days later she was declared brain dead. It all happened so fast and we are all just lost for words.
Wendy was only 13 years old and full of life. She was the best little sister and best big sister to my two younger brothers. Wendy was very healthy, which is why this all feels very unreal. Since she was so healthy, Wendy became an organ donor. One donor can save eight lives. According to the doctor Wendy saved 5. We also learned that this is the most a child has saved since 2016.
I have created this account to help my parents with expenses while we go through this heart breaking time. All funds raised will be going directly to my parents. I have asked my cousin to help with the withdraw process since I am not of age. Thank you to everyone for the love and support you have shown my family and I during this difficult time.
