It’s with a troubled, saddened heart I share the news that our lovely Zana has passed on. On the morning of Sept 16 she took her last breaths. We are all heart broken and in disbelief that this happened. It still feels surreal. She was full of life and her life was cut short only at the age of 30! She was loud and proud and 100% herself all the time. In this time I am asking for your help with tears pouring down my cheeks. Katie (her momma) needs to go to British Columbia to pack up her stuff from the apartment and bring Zana home to prepare for a funeral, which she doesn’t have money for. She is too proud to ask for help herself, so I am doing it for her. Katie is the kind of person who would give her shirt off her back if it meant to keep you warm while she sits cold. She is selfless, and has been there for so many people during their time of need. I am pleading with you now to spare anything you can to help. Katie was a single mother of 8 and has already had to bury 2 of her children born stillborn. I don’t know how she is going to bury a third, and her first. She will need air fair, hotel, car rental, transportation fees for the body, arrangements, and a proper send off so anything helps.
I hope you can find it in your heart to help a grieving mom pick up her first born child to bring her home where she belongs with people who loved her. At this time, our objective is to bring her home, but more details will be added once we know when she will be home and what type of service she will have and when it will occur.
Thank you in advance for your kind hearts
***UPDATE***
Katie will be heading to BC as soon as the funeral director gives her the go ahead to hop on a plane. I should have updated last week, but it has been really rough on the family. But, due to an increase in deaths in BC, he said that the province itself is very busy in this matter and it could take up to 2-3 weeks for the whole process! I want to take a guess that she will be in BC week of Oct 7th or around there. There will be a viewing in BC at that time prior to her being cremated and then Katie will bring her home for us to celebrate her short life. I will update when we know the viewing date if anyone wanted to fly down for that (a few family members are doing so) or if you live in the area and wanted to say bye that way. Otherwise I will use my platform to instruct on service and/or celebration of life when we have details, so please keep an eye on me for those details as well.
