In Memory Of Zara Grace “Zizi”

Monday 6th December, 2021, a day that started like any other day and ended tragically with the sudden death of a little girl, will be a day forever etched in our memory. The little girl was my niece and her name is Zara Grace Joseph. She was only ten years old. While Zara’s death causes us tremendous pain and grief, it taught her family and friends how life is so unpredictable and short and if ever there were a perfect time to do something positive, that time is now. Thus, the formation of Zara Grace “Zizi” Foundation. The Foundation is currently made up of family and friends and it is our hope that other members of the community will join or partner with us in making a positive difference in the southern community of Vieux-Fort, St. Lucia.
We strongly believe that through building partnerships and teams and rallying around a common purpose we can bring about change in our community and give our children a better chance at success . Why are we reaching out to you? Well, we need your help because we recognize that this is an enormous assignment and we cannot do it alone. We have a number of projects and activities planned for this year and the first major activity is a track meet in Vieux-Fort for youth ages 10-15, planned in collaboration with the Saint Lucia Athletics Association and Abilene Wildcats of Vieux-Fort. This track meet will be held on Saturday 15th April, 2023 in memory of Zara as she was a budding little athlete and a member of Abilene Wildcats. Together with Abilene Wildcats, other teams like Pacesetters, Night Riders, Rockets are just some of the teams that will be participating in the meet. You can help us by making a monetary donation that will assist us in purchasing medals and trophies, renting tents, and providing refreshments for our participants. Please help us make this a successful sports meet for our youth in the South. We want our youth to have increased opportunities to develop and showcase their talent and have equal opportunity to succeed in life as kids in other parts of the island.
