In precious memory of Damiana, Amy and Christopher

First, the family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring love and support. This tragedy has left us with unspeakable grief, disbelief and immense heartache. In the blink of an eye we lost three generations in a senseless and brutal act. The victims are Damiana Munoz, her daughter Amy Munoz, and Amy’s son Christopher. Amy’s daughter Olivia “Ollie” who is just 13 was also critically injured and is currently in ICU. This family legacy has been forever altered and the turmoil left behind is unimaginable and terrifying. Damiana, the matriarch of our family has the ability to capture the heart of anyone she meets. She’s a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She loved deeply, laughed contagiously and said hello by hugging tight and not letting go. She was captivating, truly one in a million. Her honesty, compassion and love of life will forever be a testament to how she lived her life. Amy Munoz was a devoted mother who was anxious to start the next chapter in her life; just graduated on June 9th, 2024 to become a respiratory therapist. She sacrificed everything for her 4 children and was determined to create a beautiful life for them. Her character was selfless, trusting and kind. She was the type to hold on to your secrets and offer genuine advice. She’d drop everything to listen even though her plate was full. Her warmth was captivating, her heart was full of light. The world was truly a better place with her gracing it. We wish the tragedy ended here however the third victim is Amy’s eldest son Christopher. Christopher was attending UNLV striving to complete his degree in Kinesiology. He had many success stories academically and thrived in his ROTC program. He was a gentle soul and was the big brother anyone would be lucky to have. This innocent family was caught in the crossfire and are being heavily mourned since the incident occurred. A family who was loved, adored and cared for will forever be known as a news article or headline. To us, they were our world. They held their own in a time of spiritual warfare. In spite of their struggles they fought back and exemplified what true love is, what family is. Each of us can think of the one person who is the most genuine, the most loving and that this family. They would give you the last dollar they had if needed. And the love they displayed was one written about in books. They were the light, the peace and the strength holding a family together. To know they will never share another laugh, another moment with those that loved them is crippling. We are immensely and eternally grateful for any prayers, thoughts or donations. We hope to give them the appropriate support as we work to put this devastation in the wake. Any donations will go directly to the family of the victims. Any sharing of our story and post is appreciated and we’re forever grateful for the support. The family has also asked for prayers to help get them through this time. Picking up the pieces will be a long and challenging road, we hope to keep their spirit alive and show the world what it means to live in light after the darkness. With eminent appreciation, The Munoz Family “"If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again”
