Raising funds for Rob's funeral

Hi, I'm Keela and I'm trying to raise funds to go towards the cost of my good friend's fiancé's funeral Robert Channelle.

 

On Sunday 1st May, Rob suddenly and very unexpectedly passed away at the age of only 34 whilst on holiday with family, leaving behind his devastated fiancé Nicole and their 2 young boys Theo and Jacob and a large extended family. It's still unknown what the cause of Rob's passing was but his family and friends are hoping to get some answers in the next few weeks from the coroner's report. The photo above is the last family photo they had together, all in good spirits and enjoying life but was taken just the day before he passed.

 

For anyone that knew Rob would know he had a pretty crappy couple of years but always remained full of life and banter! He was diagnosed with a Grade 3 Astrocytoma brain tumour in 2018, which left him blind due to complications from the surgery. However he fought it like a trooper and kicked cancers ass! Unfortunately 2 years later he was diagnosed again with another brain tumour, but after more surgeries, chemo and radiotherapy he beat it for the 2nd time and it was completely stable! Just in case that wasn't enough of a test, Rob then got an infection in his head which left him with a sizeable hole requiring more surgeries and a drain to be fitted. Yet after all of this Rob was the only person I know who could joke about and laugh at himself being blind and having a hole in his head!!

 

Rob and Nicole had their wedding booked for December 2023 (after their first wedding was delayed) and they absolutely doted on each other. Nicole became Rob's full time carer and where ever one was, the other was right there with them. In the middle of all of this they had 2 beautiful boys and had made a lovely little family for themselves. Rob adored his boys are was an immensely proud dad! It's heartbreaking that Theo and Jacob will have to now grow up without their dad around, but we have all promised he will never be forgotten.

 

The funeral arrangements have started to be made where possible and the costs are huge, especially with added expenses such as transporting Rob back to Bristol etc. As they were not married yet, Nicole isn't entitled to any Bereavement Payment and on top of these sudden and unexpected funeral costs, her and the boys will lose a substantial amount of money a month. All funds raised will go towards the funeral fees with any left over going to Nicole and the boys as they try to adjust to a life without Rob, which at the moment seems unimaginable.
