In Remembrance of Alyson Elizabeth Greenfield

Our sister, Alyson Greenfield, tragically passed away on Saturday morning after complications from open heart surgery. Alyson is survived by her beautiful family-husband, Bill Giovannucci, and sons, Nathaniel (17) and Matthew (14). We are creating this page to help with Nathaniel's and Matthew's future education expenses. Nathaniel is a senior graduating from Miami Country Day School this spring and will be heading to college (hopefully Duke). Matthew is an 8th grader at Miami Country Day School.

Alyson was a teacher at Miami Country Day School for the past 10 years. In the words of Miami Country Day School--- during her decade of service to Miami Country Day School Alyson touched the lives of thousands of students, of every faculty and staff member, and enriched the lives of many in the larger community. She created the middle school leadership initiative, which fostered enduring relationships between MCDS and numerous local under-resourced schools. She brought the Salvation Army Angel Tree toy drive to MCDS and worked tirelessly each year to ensure that the holiday wishes of every child at the local Salvation Army were met. Alyson infused her passion for community service into her classroom lessons and every child that passed through her doors left with an understanding of what it means to be a global citizen and the responsibility we all carry to leave our community stronger and better than how we found it.

We would like to show the Giovannucci Family our love and support during this very difficult time. The amount we chose for the fundraiser is based on a portion of the expected education costs for Nathaniel and Matthew. If the amount raised exceeds Nathaniel's and Matthew's education expenses, we will donate the remaining funds to a not-for-profit charity specializing in congenital heart defects.
