In Remembrance of Candace Roman
Donation protected
There are no words to express the profound loss of Candace Roman from this world. Candace known to many as Candy was a brilliant, fun, witty, kindhearted beautiful soul. She brightened up the lives of so many with her infectious laughter and her sense of humor. Candy fought a long hard battle with cancer, she took each moment for what it was and made sure she always 'put on her big panties'.
Candy brought so much joy and love to all she knew. She always put everyone in front of herself no matter what was happening in her own life. She had an enormous amount of love and care for everyone who was lucky enough to know her. Even though she may be gone from our sight, she will never be gone from our hearts, there are some things that death can not touch.
Please consider helping Lad & her family in their time of need. All donations will be used to help with the costs of the memorial service and any other arrangements that need to be made at this time.
Candace Roman
November 3rd, 1982- September 14th, 2020
Candace was born into this world with many challenges already lined up for her. Born with Tuberous Sclerosis, she has had to fight with benign tumor growths which affected her as a newborn and through the rest of her life. Even though she struggled internally with the slight tumor growth on the left side of her face, she never let that get in the way of the warmest smile you would ever see.
At a young age she also had to have reconstructive jaw and tongue reduction surgery to stop the possibility of choking herself in her sleep. Which afterwards left her with less taste buds than would be preferred and created a challenge for her speech. Again, nothing to slow her down. At 15, she had to have brain surgery to correct an aneurism, which the doctors felt she would not live past her 17th year. She proved the doctors wrong! Once again no matter what life threw at her she never let that get in the way of having the best life she possibly could. She continued to follow her heart and started to create her own path in jewelry design and high end fashion.
At age 30, she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer due to the Brca 2 Gene. Which at that point, started her 7 yearlong battle for her life. In the beginning the cancer attacked her breast and lymph nodes in her left arm. After many months of chemotherapy, doctors, surgeries and fighting like a warrior she finally beat it and things were looking up.Unfortunately it came back, several months after. The cancer had returned and they found 4 spots in her bones– her left thigh bone, left hip and 2 spots were found in her spine. She beat it again.
Until it came back a third time. This time it had moved deeper and found itself in her liver and spleen. She fought harder than ever and when they thought it was almost gone, she started to get headaches. She went in for a complete CAT scan and that is when they found 4 spots in her brain. It completely took everyone by surprise. Still she fought like a warrior. Never giving up and still putting others before herself. After all treatments it was believed that they were taken care of.
Fifth time, she started to feel more and more pain in her abdominal area. After more testing they found that the cancer started to become more and more aggressive in her liver. After a few months of the worst pain and discomfort she had to deal with yet, she fought on. She still insisted on building up her home business for her jewelry and high-end clothing. She never gave up, EVER.
And as it seemed to come out of nowhere, complications in the liver sent her to the hospital in the blink of an eye. Shortly after, it became necessary to keep her sedated due to the completely unbearable pain. Soon after, she took her last breathe while her father held her hand. If not for the pandemic Lad would have been there and all the many, many others that cherished Candace.
