In Remembrance of Charlene "Char" Thibault

From Michele and Patrick; it is with shock and devastation I make this post.
Please know the complications from COVID are real. My mom had a diagnosis in October 2020. She recovered without hospitalization, and we were so thankful as a family feeling truly blessed. Then my mom had been experiencing persistent extreme fatigue, bone pain tingling, numbness some chest pain but nothing as she said “ she couldn’t power through”. She went to the doctor because she thought her parathyroid was amiss again. Everything checked out. The doctor said they are seeing a lot of patients with the lingering after effects of COVID, similar to what my mom was experiencing.
She received both doses of the Modern vaccine. She had side effects but they cleared her to come home. Her last dose was Saturday, March 6th. My mom passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2021. I awoke to find her in her bed. She was feeling fine the night before, tired as usual, but nothing out of the ordinary and she said she was still feeling a bit “poopy” from the vaccination on Saturday.
Many of you knew the powerhouse that was my mother Charlene Thibault she was a force with which to be reckoned. She was a single mom who completed many milestones in her life. At 60 she completed her undergraduate degree at 67 she completed her MBA. She had a thriving real estate carer, worked in international business developing time shares in the Canary Islands, and in the last several years found her true calling working with AN kids in DPS.
She was a politico, the niece of Secretary of State George Baker, who until 2018 was the last elected Democratic Colorado Secretary of State since 1964. She was active in her House District serving as a PCP.
She welcomed all into her home, she loved to entertain and was the consummate hostess.
I am the woman I am today because of my mother, she was my best friend. My brother Patrick is the gentleman with a heart of gold because of the love and encouragement he received from her, and both got the tongue lashings when deserved or were out of line.
If there was a child hurting young or an adult she became their surrogate mom welcoming them to the family Dalton Zuber Valuing and deeply loving family whether blood or chosen family.
My brothers Patrick Thibault, Matthew Fry and family, and I are lost. Any support from friends and the community are appreciated... and prayers as we need strength, our mom was the anchor for us.
