Memorial Fund In Remembrance of Sarah Hackman

Sarah Gay Hackman passed away November 15th 2021 aged 71 years and 2 days of natural causes. Sarah was born on November 13, 1950 to Morrell D. Hackman and Evelyn L. (Lash) Hackman. Sarah was born in Hicksville, Ohio. She lived her 1st couple of years on a little farm outside of Sherwood, Ohio. In early 1953 the family moved to Defiance, Ohio. Her early grade school years she went Brickell moving on to the 7th through 12th grade in the senior high school graduating in 1969. Sarah love “critters” whether they be cats, dogs, snakes etc. and they loved her. Sarah went to Cedarville College in Eastern Ohio. She worked at Apple Creek care center, a home for mentally and physically handicapped people for a number of years.

Sarah’s son Mason was born in 1982. In 1985 she moved to Idaho Falls, ID. moving in with her older brother and his family. She worked as a C.N.A. at the Life Care Center for a number of years before moving to Washington state in 2003, where she later retired. Sarah dedicated her life to help those who were near the end of their life and in pain. She used her knowledge as C.N.A. to help heal and comfort those who needed it in their darkest hours.

She had a deep love of nature and all of gods creatures. She was preceded in death by her parents Morrell and Evelyn. She is survived by her son Mason Hackman and her grand daughter Sarah Grace Hackman. She is also survived by her brothers Matt Hackman (Marsha) and Larry Hackman (Becky). As well as her nieces and nephews Cheryl, Brian, Matt II, Stephanie, and Chris. She will be missed dearly by all those who knew her. She requested no funeral and to be cremated. We will have a memorial service at a later date.
