In Support of Auntie Mickey
Donation protected
Dear family,
We hope that everyone is healthy, well, and feeling blessed this holiday season. Despite how difficult 2020 has been for our family in regards to mourning the loss of our beloved ones and navigating this global pandemic, the one thing we keep reminding ourselves of is how truly lucky we are for the support we have from one another. We are deeply grateful for having such a loving, caring, and tight-knit family. It is something we can’t overlook or take for granted.
As many of you know, in November, when Auntie Mickey returned to Hawaii, she experienced some unexpected health complications which led to her hospitalization. As her condition improved, she was assigned to rehab for a few weeks. We thank God she is getting stronger each day and will be discharged from the rehab facility on Dec 29th, but she’ll need to stay in Hawaii for a few months to fully recover.
During this time, she won’t be able to work. Since we want her to prioritize fully regaining her health, we hope the family can pool its resources together to help cover some of her living expenses. The biggest cost we want to assist her with is housing. She’s found a great 1 bedroom apartment that meets her needs and is reasonably priced at 1,300 USD/month. We’re hoping to collect enough funds to cover her rent while she continues to heal.
Please feel free to donate whatever you can - anything will help! We recognize everyone’s balancing a lot but we believe our collective contributions will go a long way to support her during this tough time.
With love and solidarity for Auntie Mickey, Dawit, and Shebba
