In support of Jim Beamer & Kim Buckner

I have worked with Kim Buckner for over a decade and now going on two. She is passionate about the work she does and providing a service to those around her. She is an inspirational leader and is highly respected by her peers and customers. In March of this year her husband of 34 years, Jim Beamer was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. Over the last 9 months, he has endured multiple surgeries, myriad treatment complications, infections, and now 14 hospital stays.

In December, Jim’s condition was stable, so they scheduled a pre-Christmas trip to New York. Sadly, on day 2 of the trip, he was in severe pain, so he was taken to the NYC Langone Medical Center ER. The next day their emergency surgical team advised that Jim needed emergency surgery to remove his colon and was hospitalized for several weeks.

Unfortunately, at the time Jim was too sick to be flown home to Oregon for the surgery and thus remains hospitalized in New York post-surgery with Kim by his side. Kim has expressed how grateful she is for the excellent medical treatment he is receiving but is very anxious to return home to their support system, their dog Cooper, and some sense of normalcy during this difficult time.
