In support of Melisa G & Red Lodge Flood

Red Lodge, Montana – a town northeast of Yellowstone with 2,100 residents – was flooded as Rock Creek swelled over its banks. Bridges were breached or destroyed, power was out, and areas of the town and county were under mandatory evacuation orders.

No one would have predicted the flooding that occurred the week of June 12th, 2022.

Red Lodge is not located in a flood zone, and with only 15 minor flooding events recorded in the past 70 years, the residents of Red Lodge do not carry flood insurance.

The intrusion of the Rock Creek flood waters was extremely damaging for Melisa as she was midway through a renovation on the main floor of her house; many of her belongings, clothing, personal items and mementos that would have been on the main floor were in the basement which received the majority of the flood waters. We want to help Melisa with the expenses associated with the restoration, offset her personal property losses, and help with the reset of the renovations already underway before the flood. Melisa is doing this on her own in a remote community and can use any assistance we can provide.
