In Support of Ruthie George

As many of you may already know, Delta Epsilon Mu is grieving the loss of one of our beloved members, Ruth George. We know this loss extends far beyond us: to her family, friends, organizations she was part of, the UIC campus community, and the lives of everyone she touched and who were blessed enough to know her or know of her.

Ruth was the beloved baby of the family who brought light to her family and those around her every day. She was a beautiful, intelligent woman who dreamt of being a physical therapist. She was an honors student who worked hard to achieve her passions. She was so caring, always put others first before herself. She wanted to make sure everyone was okay and safe. She made everyone around her smile and laugh and brought so much positive and loving energy into every room she walked into. Although the days are feeling dark as we grieve and mourn, Ruth is the light that will shine on you when needed. Her soul is in peace, she’s safe, and she’s now our angelic guardian angel that is watching over us. 

This fundraiser is organized by Delta Epsilon Mu in support of the George family to help pay for final arrangements and other expenses as they mourn the loss of their beloved Ruthie. Delta Epsilon Mu is a national co-ed fraternity for pre-health students. All members of our fundraising team are part of this organization. Ruthie George was a fraternity member and sister to all of us. Therefore her family is near and dear to us. We consider them as our own family. Funds raised will go towards funeral expenses as well as any other miscellaneous expenses that are coming towards the family’s way with the death of Ruthie. Delta Epsilon Mu will withdraw all funds spent and gift it to the family as a check to show our support to the family in their time of need.
