Justice for Mai Jweinat & Family Support
Mai Jweinat – loving mother, wife, and entrepreneur – was murdered on June 26, 2020. Mai leaves behind her beloved children, husband, and [family members]. She will be remembered as a “mother to the entire community” with her contagious smile, selflessness and free spirit.
The goal of this fundraiser is to assist the Jweinat family with paying for upcoming funeral costs, childcare, medical bills and relocation.
Background
On June 26, 2020, Mai Jweinat entered her vacant restaurant in Providence, RI, to gather some of her personal belongings. After entering, Mai caught her restaurant being burglarized by a young man, Isaiah Araujo, 20 and he fatally assaulted her. Araujo was then confronted by her son, Gregory Jweinat and her step-daughter, Alysha Jweinat. Both of her children fought for their lives; leaving Gregory and Araujo seriously injured. Araujo has since been charged with murder and felony assault. More information regarding the incident can be found here .
Mai leaves a legacy of unconditional love, caring for her community, and selflessness. Mai was dedicated to her children and was always there for everyone that she knew.
