Dear friends, family, and community,

We are heartbroken to share the following devastating news about our beloved son, brother,

cousin, nephew, grandson, and friend.

On Thursday May 2,15-year-old Ellis suffered a traumatic injury which resulted in him being rushed to the Ottawa Civic Hospital where he underwent emergency heart surgery.

After two agonizing days in the ICU, and despite all the incredible care he received, he sadly succumbed to his injuries. On Saturday May 4th, a beautiful sunny day, he died peacefully surrounded by his parents, Shane and Karen, sister Fay, and immediate and extended family.

Karen, Shane, and Fay, wish to express their gratitude for the outpouring of support from friends, family and the community. The many messages, emails, and phone calls they have received provide comfort at this incredibly difficult time. They wish to thank the incredible team at The Ottawa Hospital Intensive Care Unit for their kindness, care and support, and the first responders who dealt with the immediate aftermath of this terrible event.

Donations will help cover family counseling, funeral costs, and any other unexpected expenses so the family can take the time they need to grieve this devastating loss and focus on healing.
