In Support of Tom and Edna

Edna and Tom,

They are a loving couple living in Southern California and were grateful to have found love in each other 25 years ago. Tom recently passed away after a long battle with heart problems and various health issues, including dementia. Despite their decent savings and a 401K meant to support them following their retirement, Tom's declining health required Edna to use their savings for in-home care. This professional care was designed to assist Tom in preventing falls and help with basic daily life tasks for Tom such as bathing, dressing, transferring him around and outside of the home and other such quality life tasks. While the family has been able to help with the cost of funeral and travel expenses so all family who wished to be there could attend, Edna has now found herself on her own to maintain the cost of living as it was before. Monthly costs such as a mortgage, health insurance and electricity have become extremely difficult to pay with a decrease in government benefits following Tom's passing and no savings to account for this decrease.

For this reason, we are doing everything we can, along with her family, to help support Edna through this painful time of grief and transition. As Edna works on finding employment and how to manage her new life circumstances, we would be grateful for any assistance you could provide during this time. We are also in the process of setting up a garage sale and bake sale fundraiser for Edna, with more details to come.
