In Loving Memory of Elbert "EJ" Johnson Sr.

Donation protected
Elbert “EJ” Johnson was a man loved and admired by many. A ray of light, strength, virtue, and love. Unbeknownst to those closest to him, he was quietly battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer. While taking on this ferocious ailment, Elbert continued to live his life to the fullest and enjoy what and who he loved: his family, friends, neighbors, billiards buddies, motorcycle pals, and life itself.

Elbert fought to beat this disease with everything he had: mentally, physically and spiritually. After numerous treatments of emergency radiation and encouraging rounds of chemotherapy, the cancer spiked and sorrowfully claimed the life of someone we all knew, loved, and respected on the evening of Monday, January 15, 2024. Although our hearts are heavy and full of grief, we are rejoicing in the Lord’s grace and mercy for relieving him of his pain and suffering.

Elbert was a loving Husband, devoted Father, affectionate Grandfather, tender loving Brother, caring Uncle, and a warm friend to many. A man of many talents, he enjoyed working with his hands as a Master Carpenter and Arborist. He was blessed to make a living doing what he loved- using his creativity and artistry to build, repair and add beauty to structures and being in nature manicuring and caring for trees. Outside of work, he could be found honing his craft on pool tables throughout the Twin Cities, taking rides across the state on his motorcycle, enjoying live music and social gatherings, and spending treasurable time with family and friends. His Earthly presence and delightful energy will be missed immensely.

His daughter Elicia and loved ones responsible for his final arrangements are kindly requesting donations to make his ultimate desires come true. His family would truly appreciate any support towards the financial expenses of his funeral and transport to his home state of Arkansas so that he may be laid to rest in our private family cemetery.

The picture above is from a recent trip with his daughter to the family cemetery in Lexa, Arkansas. The beautiful grove of trees set in the picturesque center of the corn field behind him is where he desires to rest with generations of loved ones and it will be our honor to fulfill his wishes.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your consideration in contributing to Elbert’s memorial and for adding joy, value, camaraderie, and love to his time here on Earth.

God bless and may our beloved EJ find eternal rest with our Lord and Savior.

With Love,
The Johnson Family
