Incas Secret Needs Your Help

Donation protected

Let me start with full disclosure, my name is Jeff and I work full time for Inca's Secret Parrot Toys & Boarding (that's MacGyver on my shoulder).

Inca’s Secret serves many functions besides retail sales; rehabilitation, rescue and rehoming services are fundamental to what we do. Unfortunately, our business has been greatly impacted by COVID-19.  We have made accommodations such as offering curbside pickup, remote shopping over the phone (with purchases mailed, and discounted to offset postage) and even delivery if you are within 15 miles. Nevertheless, the drop in foot traffic has been devastating. In a business not known for making a ton of money, Inca's owner Lisa keeps the place running with her accounting work. That often means 6 or even 7 day weeks just to keep the door open. It's a labor of love for these animals that keeps her going.

Our biggest concern right now is trying to cover rent and past-due utility expenses for May and June.  I know this is the worst time to ask for financial help, but we have exhausted every other avenue to stay afloat. I cannot imagine not having Inca's here.  With the closures of so many local parrot-specific stores over the last several years, Inca's Secret is something of an "endangered species".

We are not your average retail pet supply store. We strive every single day to educate people about their companions. We are also a shelter and sanctuary for many parrots, some of whom are on lifelong medical treatments. All staff members do their best to help with lost parrots, be it getting the word out, or going the extra mile to walk, listen and call, and offer food and cages to those found.

Inca’s has not heard back yet from any of the applied-for grants and loans to keep payroll going, nor has the owner received a stimulus check yet. I truly feel that the harm done if the shop is forced to close would be beyond devastating, not merely because it would affect me personally, but it would mean the closure of what is really the only place for many of our clients to get the services and products we provide, given our location.

Your support means the world to every single dedicated and hardworking staff member at Incas. Even $1.00 will help. Sharing this campaign on any social media platform will truly help this locally owned small business.

We appreciate every single one of our supporters!
