Independent Journalist covering Israel's war

Hello! My name is Shanna Fuld and I am an independent broadcast journalist who runs the Israel Daily News Podcast. My mission is to offer an on-the-ground report from Israel for English speakers in the U.S. and around the world. Journalism is my passion and I understand that so many journalists are pressured into tailoring stories based on the constraints of their news outlets and target audiences. As an independent journalist, I am proud that I can deliver the news straight from the street and without an agenda. I recognize people need a reliable source, without bias and in words that are easy to understand.
Currently, I am covering the war that broke out in Israel on Saturday, October 7th in Israel when Hamas operatives invaded the country and violently killed civilians, held locals hostage and took 150+ people into Gaza. I am trying to deliver quality content, speedily and while keeping my sanity in a time where I am fearful for my life and well-being.
I need more support now than ever.
In addition to being a full-time journalist, I also run a community of Olim Chadashim (new immigrants to Israel) and I work to make newcomers in the city of Tel Aviv feel welcomed.
As I write this note, I am hearing rockets detonate in the Tel Aviv airspace. The last one fired off at Ben Gurion airport.
Working as an independent journalist is not easy and I am heavily supported by my listeners. Those who love my work and would like to see me continue on as an independent are sending me small monthly donations. As my workload increases, I am looking to fans and supporters to help me sustain myself.
I am spending my time in front of the computer and on camera as well as in the streets gathering video footage and interviews from the scenes of attacks.
A bit about my work history:
I write print articles and makes TV appearances. Lately I have been coming on TV to shed light on Americans as Israel deals with a war.
I have worked at NY1 News, the Times Ledger newspaper, (+NY Post Queens insert) the Jerusalem Post, Haaretz and have also provided research for the Showtime series, Ghosts of Beirut. I was born in Queens, New York and moved to Israel in 2018.
I will appreciate your financial support, which will help me continue to produce stories independently.
