Hi, my name is Ranveer Singh, I am the founder and editor-in-chief of Khalis House Publishing Ltd.
Over the past 3 years, Khalis House has supported and published the work of both aspiring and established writers from across the Sikh Diaspora, connecting their stories with readers all over the world. To date, we have published 15 books, with over 5000 copies distributed in the UK, Canada, America and Australia. A further 7 brand-new projects are in the pipeline, scheduled for release in the coming year!
It’s an extremely busy time and with the demand for books growing, we’re now ready to initiate the next stage of our publishing enterprise by bringing the whole operation in-house.
What does this mean?
We have decided it is now time to evolve from our model of outsourcing our printing to bring the whole operation in-house with the purchase of commercial printing, laminating and binding machinery. This will not only provide us with more control and quality oversight but in the long run, it will have a direct impact on the cost of our production, which means our readers will be able to purchase our books at lower prices.
Next steps...
We have sourced the machinery and we have allocated some funds needed to complete the purchase. We need a little help with raising a further £8000. We plan to complete the switch by January 2024, so this 3-month funding campaign (1st July-30th September 2023) will allow us to prepare for the new machinery in the latter 3 months of 2023.
Our pledge
If you can provide a voluntary contribution towards our target, as a thank you we pledge to provide you with a complimentary limited edition copy of the first print run. In addition, your help will allow us to continue to build Khalis House and expand on our podcast, and writing competitions, and develop and host conferences and literary events built for the Sikh community!
Together we can revive and strengthen Sikh literary traditions that stem from the Anandpur Darbar, and produce a new library of books that inspire and empower generations to come.
