"But who were they...and what were their names?" Biruk asked as he was getting settled into his bedtime routine.
These 2 questions have replayed in the back of mine and my wife's mind for a couple of weeks now.
We adopted our son, now 4, from Ethiopia a little more than 3 years ago. We talk often about the fact that he is from Ethiopia and that we brought him home when he was a baby but the other night while getting ready for bed he was curious, really pondering about who took care of him when he was in an orphange.
You see 4 years ago we were sitting around the table Christmas morning wondering when we would be matched with our first adoption...Biruk! Little did we know he was a month old and we would soon be a forever family.
And now here we are again, at Christmas, THE season of HOPE and JOY! We are waiting to be matched with a little girl from India. A daughter to be a part of our forever family...and a sister for Biruk to play with, sing with, argue with, and bond with as siblings that share a powerful personal story of adoption.
I'm in the children's Christmas production at church and the other night at rehearsal I was somewhat distracted by the thought that we had a pretty big payment coming up...and at Christmas!
I heard a line from Gabriel, the angel that appeared to Mary, and he said "The Father's timing is always perfect. God's got this." Then again tonight when I went to grab my book and go over my lines. The name of the musical is called Special Delivery: Wrapped in the Father's Love.
There's a good chance that right now, a little girl from India is being taken care of just like our son was, and is getting ready to celebrate Christmas.
Andrea and I whole heartedly believe that God's got this, and has a Special Delivery, and that His timing is ALWAYS perfect.
Adoption is expensive and although we've saved and have been able to pay some of the fees... we need help.
Would you join with us on our adoption journey to bring home a little girl from India.
