India needs Oxygen Now-Help Doctors save Patients!
Note: When you make the donation, please chose "other" in the Tip section and customize the tip to $0 so that the maximum amount goes for the cause.
People must not die due to lack of oxygen. But many are dying now, in India.
We aim to provide oxygen concentrators and essential supplies directly to the end-users - Doctors and Patients.
To help patients, we have set up a process which would improve efficiencies by providing oxygen concentrators and essential supplies directly to the end users - Doctors and Patients.
Funds collected will be under the umbrella of Global Impact Foundation, a 501(c) non-profit organization.
FedEx has collaborated with this campaign by giving significant concessional shipping rates so that more funds can be utilized for the procurement of oxygen concentrators and essential supplies.
Funds collected would be used for procuring, shipment and delivery of oxygen concentrators and essential supplies (e.g. PAPRs, oximeters, etc) directly to doctors treating and managing COVID patients on the frontlines in towns and cities in India. No middle men, no large corporations, no large organizations.
We are working with doctors in the Indian-American community with ties to individual states, cities and towns in India to deliver these oxygen concentrators and essential supplies directly to pre-identified doctors on the frontlines who will be identified by Indian-American doctors, so as to make sure that immediate, appropriate and accountable use of these items occurs. These doctors will report back to the team on a regular basis with details of use of such supplies for which we will be maintaining a record.
Our methodology is based upon direct lending of a helping hand by practicing doctors in the US to fellow frontline doctors in India and saving patients. Our process bypasses the severely challenged supply chains in the delivery of essential healthcare supplies currently in India due to the pandemic. After having experienced similar but at a smaller scale the operational dysfunction during surges in the US, and learning from the same, we have designed a process with the following aims -
1. There is individual accountability.
2. There is efficiency and immediate utilization upon delivery of donated items.
3. There is no delay and wastage of supplies preventing their languishing in warehouses and storages.
4. There is no pilferage of these supplies.
5. To save as many human lives as possible that would have been otherwise lost due to lack of oxygen.
This is a person to person endeavor by practicing doctors in the US who continue to be on the frontlines battling COVID since more than a year, to help their fellow frontline doctors and patients battling this pandemic in India.
Each oxygen concentrator costs between $500 and $900. There is an urgent need for life saving equipment. We request that you donate as generously as you possibly can - no amount is small. Every contribution counts. We thank you in advance for your generosity and pray that our collective efforts saves lives.
We promise to be transparent in our endeavor as we work directly to deliver supplies to doctors on the frontlines who need these supplies to treat patients - which we believe is the fastest and most accountable way to reach patients in need. We will be keeping a record to substantiate accountability.
Please keep checking our updates on this page to keep apprised of the progress and see your generosity at work.
