Indie needs urgent dental surgery!

Hi! My name is Jocelyn, (they/them). I have created this fundraiser for my dear cat Indie, who is in urgent need of an expensive dental surgery. She is experiencing what is called “tooth resorption” and it is essentially when the bone is attempting to reabsorb the tooth. It is extremely painful for cats, and of course they hid it pretty well. She hadn’t been her usual self for a little while, so we took her to the vet and they diagnosed her promptly. We received a quote from our vet and the approximate cost is $2,278.51-$2,697.82. I am going to attach the receipt in this fundraiser.

Indies life:

I found my baby girl 4 years ago in a southern Ontario town in late winter. She was missing a lot of her fur and her state was critical. She was somewhere between 6-10 months old when I adopted her. It was difficult for the vet to discern her age because of the extreme malnourishment. She has come so far. She used to have an extremely difficult time with people, and I feel honoured to have had the privilege of raising her these past four years. She really is everything to me. Indie began to gain weight and regrow her coat as time went on, and her spirit was evident from the very beginning. She loves to go on car rides, on walks, and to chew on bamboo and on almond butter (prior to this dental diagnosis). She truly is the kindest cat I have ever met, and is extremely compassionate.

I am unfortunately in quite a bit of debt following multiple surgeries. Specifically, my knee surgery in December of 2022. I was in and out of work after moving from Ontario to BC due to my physical health for the past 3 years, and of course accrued debt in the process to stay afloat. I am going to be putting forth as much as I can, but I am not able to cover the total cost of this operation for Indie.

I understand money is very tight for a lot of people, and I ask only for people to donate what they comfortably can, and to share if they cannot spare.

I don’t want Indie to be in pain anymore, and I look forward to her living pain-free, running in the backyard.
