Helping a kind-hearted family

I'm here to help a family who exudes kindness, spiritualness and the kind of family who helps others.  I understand that hard times takes it's angry hand at so many people.  I know not everyone is helped and that makes me sad.  If I could help everyone I would, and I will try to help people as much as I possibly can.  This is my passion...to help people one day at a time.

My name is Melissa.  My friend and babysitter is Ingar. Ingar and her family (her husband, 5 beautiful daughters and 2 grandchildren) live in Maywood, IL.  She came into our lives in June this year and quickly became one of my favorite people. Ingar walks in with a smile on her face everyday.  She laughs and makes jokes.  She has stolen my 5 year olds sons' heart.  Ingar is the type of person that hugs someone hello and goodbye.  She attends church every Sunday ALL DAY faithfully.  She also works her butt off...working multiple jobs between babysitting and housecleaning...neither of which are an easy task as we all know.  In the recent past, her husband was laid off work and tried desperately to find another consistent job.  Although he has accomplished that, the year he was out of work put a huge toll on the family, mortgage and upkeep on their home.  The have a MAJOR problem with water in their basement and took their life savings of $4,000, got an estimate for water repair and the man who was supposed to do the work took the money (without doing the work). They never heard from him again.  Although I'm working on finding him (because they saved all the paperwork including the cashed check), they are in desperate need of a full basement overhaul.  The house reeks of mold and I can't imagine how unhealthy it has to be to breathe that in.  

When bad things happen to good people, I know people want to step in and help...including me.  I'm just an average person wanting to make a difference in someone's life...someone who is wonderful and special.  

Are you able to help?  The money will be used to do whatever it takes to fix their major water problems and get the house back to a safe living environment.  

I'd like to try to get $10,000 by Christmas.  They are a church going family and what an amazing Christmas present would this be.  If we could do this for them, we are one step closer to helping people have a clean living environment.  

My heart breaks when I see someone living like that and I would be ever so thankful for any amount we can come up with.  I know I'm setting the bar high but the repairs are costly.  But again, any help is something special to me and a family that deserves all the love that would be coming to them.
