Ingrid Moore Family Fund

We've known the Moores for eight years--since Ingrid assumed the role as the Head of the Lower School at the Steward School. The Moores are family to us - as I'm sure many of you consider them family, as well. We write to ask you to consider helping the Moore family as they process Ingrid's passing, and contend with some immediate financial burdens and future education bills.
Ingrid Moore dedicated her life to the education of children. She was an incredible educator and administrator. She touched the lives of countless children, their families, teachers, and many others. Her legacy, dedication, and selfless giving will forever be remembered at the Steward School in Richmond, Virginia, Colorado Academy in Denver, Colorado, and The Potomac School in McClean, Virginia. She was a force of nature. It is with complete despair that we must face the fact that Ingrid lost her fight against cancer this March. She left us far too soon. Her family is devastated. Her school and community families are devastated. This is an immeasurable loss for us all.
Ingrid gave every ounce of herself to help others. Now is the time to embrace Paco, Crary, Wit, Nels, and Lucky with all of our love, and our help. There are many immediate financial burdens facing Paco and the kids. Ingrid's career was the primary source of income for the Moores. As Paco and the kids begin to process this deep and painful loss, they need our support. Moreover, Crary and Wit are currently in college - with Nels and Lucky not far behind them. Those of us with multiple kids in college fully understand the weight of trying to assist in financing college to minimize the debt load with which our kids will graduate.
"When you learn, teach. When you get, give." - Maya Angelou.
Ingrid Moore lived her life this way. We ask you, please, to give. Remember Ingrid's integrity, her grit, and her striving to make the world a better place - one child at a time. Remember one of the last lessons she taught all that knew her -- the value of a life is not measured by what you get, but by what you give and, in giving, how much love you leave behind. Remember how she loved her family, how she and Paco danced through life with grace and kindness - no matter what they faced. Remember all of this, and give. Paco and the kids need our help. Now.
Donated funds will be used to offset the burden of immediate household bills and any outstanding medical bills (many treatments she received were experimental and outside of their insurance coverage). The remainder of the funds will go towards the current and future educational needs of the kids.
Thank you for your generosity and love.
