Ingrid's breast cancer journey

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Ingrid and I have breast cancer. My journey started around December 2022. I found a painful lump in my right breast. I scheduled a mammogram that was long overdue. I had the usual mammogram but I was told the doctor needed to review it before I could leave. After he reviewed it, then they said I also needed an ultrasound. After I had the ultrasound, I was told I needed to wait on the results. The ultrasound results showed something suspicious so he ordered an Ultrasound Guided Core Breast Biopsy on one breast and a Stereotactic Breast Biopsy on the other. One month later I had the biopsies. Three days later I received the call letting me know I had breast cancer in the left breast. Three days after that, I saw a breast specialist that told me I actually had cancer in both breasts. In less than three weeks on June 22nd, I had a lumpectomy. The pathology report and my genetic test came back on June 29th and very unexpectedly I was told I had to have a mastectomy. I see my doctor on Monday the 10th and I will be provided with more info regarding the next steps.

Now…how can you help? Plz wait to call. Texts are fine, but I still find myself balling like a baby whenever I talk about it. I have been doing some research about what I will need post-surgery and recovery. This is how I intend to use the money; I’ll need certain types of clothing to include mastectomy drain pouches and a jacket with inside pockets. Support/wedge pillows for my arms. I’ll use most of the money for food, utilities, bills, and rent because I don’t know how long I’ll be out of commission.
