Initial KC recovery

Hello everyone!We are Initial KC, a streetwear consignment shop in Kansas City, MO.In July 21st 2018, we have decided to open Kansas City’s first consignment shop. We wanted to bring the culture that city’s like New York and LA had into Kansas City to provide the public in Kansas City with the newest sneakers, Supreme, Bape, Off white or other hot items on the market. Since the opening day until now we had our ups and downs just like every other business that strives to succeed. Thanks to all of our customers, consigners and the city itself we were able to take one step closer to reaching our one year goal. Unfortunately, on 07/11/2019, 10 days away from our 1 year anniversary, there was a major break in, in which the people who broke in stole between $30,000-$40,000 in sneakers, clothes and accessories. Within the items that got stolen, some of the merchandise was the consigners items. Due to that we had to pay the consigners for the items that were lost making the loss even bigger.
The insurance company only covers for the items that have proof of purchase, also the insurance company will pay for the retail value of the items and not current market price. Furthermore, the consigned items didn’t belong to us, so we have to payback our consigners out of our pocket for their loss with no coverage.
We are trying to move on from this and only get better now. With your guys help and donation it will help us to find a better location in a safer area also us coming back to business as soon as possible. We love our city and hoping to comeback to work! Thank you.
