Joa's Arc Medical Fund for INKY
Donation protected
Three weeks ago, we received an urgent plea from a local shelter asking us to pull a small kitten with a fractured leg. We had only hours to get the kitten immediately to a vet for emergency care. Arrangements were make quickly to pull Inky, a sweet four week old kitten with a bad leg and her brother Spot with an URI. The vet who initially saw Inky assured us it was a stable fracture of the right tibia that would just need splinting for six weeks. Unfortunately four days later, Inky crashed, dropping her glucose and needed to be stabilized over night at the vet. Luckily she bounced back to her sweet loving self. Two more splint changes proved to be detrimental to her leg. Her tibia fracture was grossly displaced, her fibula was also fractured and her hip was dislocated. Amputation was the only option we were informed. Immediately we took Inky to see Dr. Coudrai at Winslow Animal Hospital, the top orthopedic surgeons. He has helped fix many of our broken animals. Dr. Coudrai doesn't believe her leg needs to be amputated and will be doing surgery to put her bones back together.
This is where we need your help. Inky is only seven weeks old and has been thru so much and we believe we must do what we can to save her leg. As of today prior to her surgery, her expenses far exceed $900. Her surgery is estimated to be approximately $2400. We are a 501c3 NJ registered charity (EIN 80-0534753) so your donations are tax exempt. Any amount toward Inky's medical care would be greatly appreciated. Joa's Arc believes regardless of injuries, congenital defects or medical problems, they all deserve a chance.
Although Inky has a horribly broken leg, her spirit is not broken. She is happy, sweet, loving and one strong little 1.4 pound kitten. Thank you for your support! Together we can do this!
Donations also can be sent to Joa's Arc, PO Box 243, Audubon, NJ. 08106.
